Dear Friends : I would like to request time during this coming Wednesday's sudo meeting to discuss the revised voting proposal for the Omni. I understand there are concerns about this proposal coming from the sudo community, and I want to work them out in your meeting so we can pass this proposal. Please let me know when I should come, & thanks for your consideration ! Love & solidarity -- David Brazil

robot revealation

by Jake

http://spaz.org/~jake/robot/trip_over_cables.png okay so we really really almost got the robot working tonight we replaced the memory battery, and temporarily disconnected the other memory battery and then initialized its brains.. and now it seems ready to turn on and move! but when you press SERVO ON it tries to turn on the motors, and then says there's an error. I think it's because we don't have three-phase power for it. But i believe we can simulate the signal of a third phase for the circuitry, so that it will think that everything is OK, and then it will act normally. in the meantime, i discovered a treasure trove of documentation. If you were asking before how to operate this thing (once it's functional) here's the answer: read these PDFs. http://spaz.org/~jake/robot/ -jake

Intro to JS

by Connor Leech

Hello everyone, I posted this event on Introduction to Javascript today: https://sudoroom.org/events/intro-to-javascript/ This is intended for beginners but all skill levels are welcome. I know for me initially learning to program was a bit daunting. There are lots of technologies and programming languages out there. It can be hard to figure out what to learn. Through this series it would be cool to get people on a track of learning how to learn programming. Open to everyone, totally free, 6pm today Connor questions: 415-717-5557

transport food for Noisebridge tonight?

by Mitch Altman

Danielle got a huge pile of yummy food donated by a farmers market in Oakland for the Noisebridge Grand Re-Opening Party tomorrow: Hummus, veggies, olives, other dips, a ridiculous amount of strawberries . . . But she needs someone to grab the stuff from her tonight, since she has an early morning appointment tomorrow. Anyone have a vehicle and wanna help grab the food from Oakland to Noisebridge tonight? If so, please contact me off-list, and I'll give you Danielle's contact info. Thanks, Mitch.

SudoRoom Visit.

by Samir Faci

HI all, I just joined the mailing list not too long ago. I was going to stop by over the weekend to checkout the space and meet whoever is lurking around. I just wanted to see if there was any trick to getting in. Noisebridge has that quirky phone that never seems to work. Also, I'm a tech/linux enthusiast/developer/foss hippy that moved to the bay area a few years ago. Would love to get more involved especially as I'm debating moving to Oakland at some point in the foreseeable future. -- Thank you Samir Faci

501c documentation request

by Whitney Lawrence

Hello, I'll be spearheading the 501c(3) efforts. I am going to need all the documents related to Sudo, tax documents, official filings to date, list of assets and liabilities (COH/ recent bank statement, lease, etc.) Additionally, to avoid re-doing work already done, I want to hear about any and all efforts related to acquiring 501c(3) status. My goal is to have an initial draft of our application prepared for members review by the middle/end of October 2014. Hopefully we can submit our finalized application before the holiday season. I look forward to working toward this important goal but I can't help without input from our more seasoned members. Please contact me with documentation, suggestions, experiences yada yada yada. -Whit

Re: [sudo-discuss] Electrician to install

by Whitney Lawrence

Noob post, let me know if I'm not formatting properly or otherwise screwing this up. I have experience doing this type of install, I am not licensed. I think $400 is a fantastically cheep deal (labor and materials), however, I will need to discuss to be sure I have a handle on the scope of what Sudo wants. I am available this weekend to work on the install and am totally wiling to follow someone else's lead. We can borrow condi benders from the tool library up the street (tele @51st), they might even have a pull-tape which we will need. Lets talk to coordinate material lists, tools, and meeting time. I would suggest opting for quad plugs rather than duals, metal boxes w/ metal faces and individual wire spools for the the pulls (14awg white, blk and green). We need to make drawings of where the outlets will be & where we will access power. This is important because we may need to put in junction boxes for long runs and/or increase the condi size over 1/2 inch, and we are likely installing new 20A braker(s). Lastly, who will be signing off on the work prior to making it HOT? you can reach me at 510.396.5510 Thanks, Whitney
