Hello all,
Soliciting donations for SudoRoom will be greatly assisted with a federal
501c(3) status. Without this classification federal tax incentives are not
available to those wishing to donate or to those paying members looking to
write off dues, and soliciting of donations w/o this classification is
legally questionable. Additionally there is the potential for tax exemption
of purchases however this will require (in addition to filing and gaining
approval) an internally developed mechanism for members to benefit when
making SudoRoom related purchases.
Costs of operating a 501c(3) depend on the amount of revenue. I assume
SudoRoom is below the $2million threshold of revenues so audits will not be
required. There are miscellaneous fees associated with filing yearly
paperwork (all totaled less than $100/yr).
Below are helpful links on the subject and find attached a screen capture
of the current Attorney General Status (note that SudoMesh is identical) in
addition to the published guide for charities, specifically the section
beginning on page 46 "A Summary of Important...".

Hello Historico-curious,
*Do you often wonder what historical precedents have contributed to the
current housing crisis? How do World War II-era booms weave into current
displacement trends? What can the housing overcrowding, racism and
displacement of yesterday tell us about today’s realities?*
We’re excited to announce that the Prelinger Library has invited us to join
them at the end of July for an editathon on gentrification in San
Francisco! The *Prelinger Library* <http://www.prelingerlibrary.org/home/>
is a private collection of rare books, maps, zines and other ephemera held
by Rick and Megan Prelinger, both “appropriation-friendly” librarians.
*Rick* <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rick_Prelinger> is well known in the
film archive world for his fascinating collections of American home movies
and for his work with the Internet Archive. *Megan*
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megan_Prelinger> is a cultural historian,
whose research and writing has ranged from artificial intelligence and
information design to city planning and social theory. Megan will be
curating a personalized collection of books and ephemera for us to use in
our research.
*RSVP*
Since the library study area is rather small, they have asked that we limit
participant numbers. We’ve been hearing a lot of strong interest in this
editathon, so in order to accommodate as many people as we can, we will be
splitting research times into three groups:
- Wednesday, July 23rd, 5-8:30 pm (6 spaces)
- Saturday, July 26th, noon-3pm (12 spaces)
- Saturday, July 26th, 3-6 pm (12 spaces)
Please RSVP either by emailing me privately or by adding your name to the
wiki event page: <*http://localwiki.net/sf/Gentrification_editathon
<http://localwiki.net/sf/Gentrification_editathon>*>. *Sign up for as many
times as you'd like to attend, but if the slots get filled you may be asked
to go to a less-popular time. Sorry! *:P
*LOCATION*
301 8th Street (near Folsom Street)
Room 215
San Francisco, CA
*FUN FACT*The library collection is organized in order of proximity,
starting with San Francisco and extending into outer space. :]
*Let me know if you have any questions!*
Take care,
Vicky
Is there a way to submit corrections to calendar entries?
Is this calendar kept in sync with the list of activities found on the
'Main' page of the SuDo Room MediaWiki?
Stan
Perhaps creating a 'www' subdomain would do the trick or that is how is done. Any other ideas?

Try the shelf unit holding red servers by stairs at Sudo.

Hi all,
Looks like the AT&T circuit is hooked up.
Yar mentioned the modem we need (a Tace 5168? I think - its mentioned in my
previous email) is the same Sudo was using at 2141.
Anyone know where it is? I will cross-connect it if someone finds it..
Best,
David
Hey folks,
I left my samsung galaxy nexus phone at sudoroom. I believe it's next
to/in front of the build server (the cart with the blue and red
rectangular boxes on it with all the blue cables near the stairs up to
the stage). Either that or on the tables somewhere. It has a lock screen
with a picture of two dogs on it. I was hoping to bike back over
tonight, but I realized that since we're not supposed to buzz after 10pm
I'm not sure I'd be able to get in...
If anyone's there, would you let me know how long you might be there and
whether you'd be able to let me in?
Also - if we don't get a hold of eachother, would you put it in a safe
place and let me know where that might be?
Thanks so much!
Maxb
