Bagpipes found in CCL

by Patrik D'haeseleer

Hi all, A set of bagpipes showed up in CCL a few days ago - anyone know who these belong to? I have too much respect for bagpipes to just leave these out like this, so I'm going to put them in secure storage. If you think they're yours, let me know what else was with the pipes, and which pipe band's business cards I found with them. If I don't hear anything, I'll be contacting that pipe band in a couple days... Thanks! Patrik

Museum shelf at SudoRoom with history of hardware

by Romy Ilano

I was thinking we might like to create a museum shelf at SudoRoom near the entrance. I could do the first one - we could have rotating exhibits, but we would basically exhibit a random antique piece of hardware that we find in the space. Even if the hardware doesn't have an obvious deep historical impact, it could still be interesting. I was looking up old Samsung chips on PDF friday night. We could write about what was going on at that time socially, ("At this time this made music equipment more affordable and then hip hop was born" Instead of talking, I'll probably make this a side mini project next time I visit sudoRoom! ref: friend has this cool Silicon Graphics Iris poster in his room, I didn't realize they were the ones who gave birth to OpenGL http://www.miromi.com/webpress/2015/05/irisgl-gave-birth-to-opengl/ ============================= Romy Ilano romy(a)snowyla.com

Anyone seen some little tables that look like the one in the photo attached? There were also a couple of very small plain wooden tables that have gone missing, as well. Would have disappeared between 5am and 11am this morning. <3 N ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: niki <niki.shelley(a)gmail.com> Date: Sat, May 2, 2015 at 7:56 PM Subject: To: lauren shelley <niki.shelley(a)gmail.com>

Anyone want my old hot tub cover?

by Steve Berl

I just replaced the cover on my hot tun and am about to throw away the old one, but I thought I would offer it up to anyone at my local hacker spaces in case anyone has a use for it. There are 2 halves, each a bit less than 4x8 feet and about 4" thick. It's made of some sort of medium density closed cell foam covered in a vinyl fabric of some sort which is easily cut off. Let me know if you are interested. I can drop it off for you anywhere nearby. If I don't hear, it goes to the dump on Tuesday. -- -steve

Sudo Room Fundraiser Party Tomorrow Night!

by Jenny Ryan

Come by Sudo Room tomorrow evening and hold it down after Oakland shuts it down! This isn't just a party - it's also a fundraiser to help grow sudo room's broke-ass bank account. Please bring some cash to donate! We'll have: * Fermentation Station's witchy brew and kombucha * A special batch of SudoMate * An outdoor laser cutting workshop * A dance party in sudo itself, with a special guest performance of our hit group, New Oakland Scavanger Co Electric Spazm Champions - it's like a jug band without the jugs, and instead with pretty much any instrument you want * A newly-operational robot arm that will be drawing SVG portraits * A fresh batch of sudo swag - buttons and new stickers * Potentially a very special interactive musical performance powered by lightning! SPAZ will also be hosting a soundsystem party in the basement of the Omni, with a tea lounge upstairs in La Commune. Invite your friends, 7pm til late!
