Film crew from ARTE-TV in CCL this weekend

by Patrik D'haeseleer

Hi all, We'll have some folks from German/French public TV Channel ARTE-TV (www.arte -tv.de) in CCL this weekend, shooting some material for a documentary on vegan foods and sustainability. Please be considerate and try to keep noise down while they're filming. But also feel free to speak up and let us know if their presence is getting in the way of you getting your own work done! Also, if you could help out keeping some of the mess under control in the lab, that would be greatly appreciated... Thanks! Patrik

outdoor kids pool wanted...

by Cere Davis

Heya folks, I have just prototyped a new art piece that I am really excited to share. But I am looking for a small outdoor kitty pool or bath to use. I don't suppose anyone has one of those lying around, do they? Literally, something like this would be ideal. https://www.amazon.com/Intex-Inflatable-Snapset-Pool-5X10/dp/B000OV0X34?ie=… I know I could always buy one, but I would like to get it used if possible and contribute to killing our environment more slowly.... Shorter height is better than tall for this case. -Cere -- Cere Davis CereDavis.com @ceremona <http://Twitter.com/Ceremona> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ GPG Key: http://taffy.findpage.com/~cere/pubkey.asc GPG fingerprint (ID# 73FCA9E6) : F5C7 627B ECBE C735 117B 2278 9A95 4C88 73FC A9E6

Could Facebook's OpenCellular be used in open mesh networks?

by Valent Turkovic

Hi, is anyone trracking Facebook and their OpenCellular project ? To me this looks like re-implementation OpenBTS but as software defined radio. If you missed announcement from Facebook: https://code.facebook.com/posts/1754757044806180/introducing-opencellular-a… If Facebook releases this platform as open hardware this could be interesting platform for open mesh networks... Facebook approach is to use software defined radio and so far they got 2G working but they plan to have everything from 2G to LTE and Wifi done in SDR. Looks like a really interesting project... if anyone has some info please share because their press release is quite sparse with any concrete info... Cheers.

Health and Life Extension Meeting

by Ira Brightman

Hi All, The Health and Life Extension Huvement has begun. A huvement, by the way, is a movement that affects an aspect of all humanity (a typical movement affects one aspect of a given society). One of our main goals is to see to it that poor people in industrialized countries, and citizens of poor countries themselves are included at the same time as, and in total equality to, the more fortunate. A link is below to the website that's the home of the huvement: Include-Everyone.org We are having a session on advancing the huvement at the Berkeley main library meeting room this Sunday, July 10, from 2-4pm. Address: 2090 Kittredge (at Shattuck), three blocks from the Berkeley downtown Bart. Third floor meeting room. Hope you can make it. Feel free to bring along anyone who might be interested. Please look over the website before attending if possible, and bring a laptop or tablet if you can. Re: [sudo-discuss] sudo-discuss Digest, Vol 45, Issue 2

by Elizabeth W. Biddlecome

Hi! I've been a CS nerd/web dev for many years, but I'd also say I'm "new to the game". This is "a whole different ballgame" to what I'm used to from past experience. I have spent the last year of my life learning JavaScript. Several weeks ago, I graduated from Telegraph Academy, Hack Reactor Core's East Bay school (anyone can attend who passes the rigorous selection process, but it's targeted at underrepresented minorities in the software engineering industry- women and people of color). During the course of my search for a full time job, I'm going to a ton of similar events and working on various projects. Always happy to connect! Regarding open source projects, that is great advice. My favorite open source project right now is SudoMesh! We are working on a UI right now, with all kinds of things to do. This could be a cool project for your pal to check out. best, Elizabeth > On Jul 5, 2016, at 9:09 AM, sudo-discuss-request(a)lists.sudoroom.org wrote: > > sudo-discuss] Any web developers new to the game at > SudoRoom?

AMF on Zeronet (fwd)

by Jake

---------- Forwarded message ---------- for those with geek inclinations: in our constant exploration of decentralized paths out of the current corporate dominated and co-opted bullshit web that is barely useable anymore, we've been experimenting with Zeronet, a peer-to-peer web that uses bittorrent to host distributed websites that can't be taken down. Currently, there is an AMF site hosted on Zeronet that can be accessed via proxy here: http://76.74.178.163:43110/mutantfest.bit otherwise, you can run Zeronet on your own PC, it's really cool: http://zeronet.io aa _______________________________________________ Mutantfest_organize mailing list
