I found myself chatting with Joseph Coffland of Buildbotics ( https://buildbotics.com/) and he's interested in checking out the space next week. Sounds like a possible demo of their fantastic looking CNC controller? Should be a good time, I'll plan on being there. Cheers, Morgan

"Tue, Sep 12, 2017 at 9:46 PM" "The monitor sudoroom.org (https://sudoroom.org) is back UP (HTTP 200 - OK) (It was down for 8 hours, 16 minutes and 42 seconds)." Sorry I missed the alert, I was too busy at Noisebridge at Chalsea's interview. :) -- Daniel Signal: 415.336.9143 <https://whispersystems.org/> - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Help open a people-powered common space in Oakland, California! https://omnicommons.org/donate - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Status of SR website?

by aaronco36

Hey all, Tried reaching main website https://sudoroom.org several times this afternoon and evening. It doesn't seem to be responding. Also tried..... - using 'sudo ping www.sudoroom.org', it times out and doesn't complete - ditto " for 'sudo ping 104.236.181.202' " - 'sudo traceroute www.sudoroom.org' reaches last router digitalocean-ic-302451-sjo-b21.c.telia.net (62.115.34.18) in 24.010 ms 23.958 ms 24.266 ms and then doesn't complete its roundtrip The fact that you all may be receiving this email _separately_ rather than from the sudo-discuss list also indicates something is wrong. Any idea of what's going on and/or what needs to be done? Best, -Aaron aaronco36(a)sdf.org SDF Public Access UNIX System - http://sdf.org

proposal: get space ready by sep 15th, host open house on 16th?

by Jenny Ryan

Greetings sudo! We've had some great momentum these past few weeks, especially on Tuesday nights, organizing our resources and separating the cruft. On September 16th, the Omni will be hosting the Bay Area Anarchist Bookfair, and thus the building will be swarming with awesome radicals from all over. I propose having the space looking spacious and beautiful by September 15th. Abe suggested this would be a great opportunity for us to host some workshops in the back. At last night's mesh meeting, we discussed having a mini-BYOI (Build Your Own Internet) workshop, and announce the larger one we'll be hosting the following Saturday for those interested in learning more. The Bookfair runs from 10am-6pm. Robb and I are thinking we should organize an afterparty. Not sure if there is anything already planned, but it makes sense and would be hella fun :) Thoughts / volunteers to host an open house, afterparty and/or some other workshops that day? -- Jenny Help open a people-powered common space in Oakland, California! https://omnicommons.org/donate `~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~` "Technology is the campfire around which we tell our stories." -Laurie Anderson "Storytelling reveals meaning without committing the error of defining it." -Hannah Arendt "To define is to kill. Looking for someone who had access to large CnC

by Anca Mosoiu

Hi there, I am making a light-up sign and need to cut some letters into a 6'x3.5' plywood sheet. Do you have the expertise to do this, and access to a machine? There is some $ in it for your time.
