KopimismSect revival - Possible gitmerge with public school poetry group to create SudoRoom Chants

by Romy Ilano

Hello the Kopimism sect is now defunct. https://sudoroom.org/wiki/page/Kopimism Even though I'm not a full religious convert yet (personal reasons) I think this is really important and the SudoRoom family will benefit from the creation of RITUAL CHANTS AND PRAYERS -===anyone interested in contributions? These will most likely be published in small handbooks jack chiclet style and recited aloud at meetings with members holding hands and looking upwards with solemn facial expressions I will speak to the public school poetry class about potential ideas for the creation of SudoRoom Kopimistic ritual chants and prayers. All chants will most likely be recited Potential phraseology 510 is nottabout just tha dough sudo is a do-ology

lost clipper card at sudo room

by Naomi Most

Looks like I dropped my Clipper card somewhere in the space. I don't have time to try and get it back, so if you find it and need it, it's yours. If you don't need it so much, pass it to someone who does. It's not connected to my bank account or anything, so don't expect it to autoload. :) --Naomi -- Naomi Theora Most naomi(a)nthmost.com +1-415-728-7490 skype: nthmost http://twitter.com/nthmost

Friday Filosophy, April 12: Crowdfunding!?!

by Eddan Katz

Running late - Filo speciality may not be part of today's session. Hopefully the Athenian Deli will be open (an uncertain assertion). I propose we discuss Crowdfunding, as part of the effort to stimulate our exploration of these sorts of sources of revenue. The discussion will be continued on the Sudo-Crowd mailing list (sudo-crowd(a)lists.sudoroom.org) The following blurb is also for the TechLiminal Lunch Box next Wed., Apr. 17. Please contact Evan Savage through Tech Liminal for more about that. Crowdfunding. What does it mean and how does it work? Why is it the biggest buzz word since social media? Will it really circumvent the flow of investment capital to bypass Wall Street? Can it stimulate new jobs in the small business enterprise and contractors markets? Is there anything more to this than passing around a hat for donations amongst your friends and family in order to do a project you and they know will never be completed? What is the Securities Exchange Commission worries about that is delaying their implementation of the Crowdfunding provisions of the JOBS Act, which was supposed to go into effect in January? We will address these questions, more or less. We will at the very least read all of them out loud at the beginning. Please also note the text below about the wiki, mailing list, and background resources I had sent around a few weeks ago. >> We will be collecting background resources and commentary on crowdfunding to fill out the JOBS Act page on the Sudo wiki -http://sudoroom.org/wiki/JOBS_Act. >> >> To sign up for the list, please go to: >> http://lists.sudoroom.org/listinfo/sudo-crowd. >> >> In addition to discussion, we will use the mailing list to collaborate on crowdfunding related projects. The first one being the drafting of public comments on behalf of Sudo Room (http://www.sec.gov/spotlight/jobsactcomments.shtml). You can see the comments currently submitted to the SEC athttp://www.sec.gov/comments/jobs-title-iii/jobs-title-iii.shtml. >> >> There are a bunch of them, so I think the most substantive comments to perhaps start with are the two Rockethub white papers on Regulation (http://www.sec.gov/comments/jobs-title-iii/jobstitleiii-39.htm) and Implementation (http://www.sec.gov/comments/jobs-title-iii/jobstitleiii-39.htm). sent from eddan.com

Your Are Subiir! [Subiir bottling after next Wednesday meeting - you're invited!]

by Morten H. D. Fuglsang

Hi all! Subiir batch #2 is almost ready to be bottled. Exciting! Mr. Juul and myself will be bottling next Wednesday after our meeting, and want to invite the curious beer connoisseur in all of you to come and bottle your very own special Subiir. It works like this: * Bring one/more bottles fit for bottling (beer/soda bottles all work, as long as non twist-top) - we encourage you to find a special one, and maybe even DECORATE IT! WOW! * We will help you clean it and bottle it. (Optional: * you might think, "nice", and donate for the next brew) * Patience becomes your BEST FRIEND! You will enjoy ~3 weeks of looking - not touching - your cute bottle. * After about 3 weeks, we will have a nice batch #2 release - and you are super welcome to pop open your own Subiir there! Or wherever else you might please. Hooray! Make a great day, Morten

Welder?

by Anca Mosoiu

Hi guys, Eddan suggested someone on the Sudo list knows how to weld and has access to equipment. I have a couple of vintage chairs that need some repair - the weld holding the legs together has popped off. Email me off list if you can help. I'd like to hire you. Sudo Square

by Eddan Katz

Hi all - I wanted to ask a flash-mob like favor from folks coming to Sudo Room this evening. Over the summer, several of us created the Sudo Square page at Foursquare (https://foursquare.com/v/sudo-square/50074796e4b092cb5fe8c83d) and Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sudo-Square/351059718301717) as part of a plan to name the plaza at the intersection of Broadway, 19th, & Franklin. Can you please check-in on your way in? It's a lovely day and the Punchdown (http://www.punchdownwine.com/) already put out the outdoor table seating. I'll be hanging out there until the meeting and will remind Sudo folk I see. Given the democratization of nomenclature afforded by geo-located mobile computing, I thought it most appropriate to have some kind of coordinated crowd in-checking initiative. There are some pictures, but it's a placeholder so far. So far as we know (& the Oakland Wiki folks could correct us), the square does not yet have a name. So not just today - but anytime - when you're passing by 22nd & Broadway and you're itching to check in on Facebook or Foursquare, or Yelp, or however it is you go about telling the world instantaneously where you are - please check in at Sudo Square - often and tell your friends about it too. I am also now trying to compile a list of the existing sites & services use for geo-located check-in fun - so let me know if you know of others. Perhaps during one of the upcoming Art Murmurs - we can have an official check-in dedication ceremony - we can invite the mayor. sent from eddan.com

Ex-cheque-ing / can't make it tonight + a proposal re: reimbursing Max for (upcoming) internet costs

by Tommy York

I can't make the meeting tonight - I apologize! - but I would like to propose that we discuss writing a check for the internet costs to Max Klein. As far as I know the facts: We don't currently have a VISA / MasterCard account, which is necessary to have an account with Sonic, so Max has been paying with his own card. I'd like to write him a check for the internet this month. Once we're in a better position in terms of solvency / reserves, I'd like to discuss reimbursing him for the internet costs, but I don't think we're in a position to do that just yet. As far as the spreadsheets, I'm trying to get our account data from Community Bank of the Bay so I can go back through the last three months' columns in the solvency spreadsheet - the one shared with everyone - and update the balance information. There's currently a single spreadsheet for donations / membership dues - also shared with everyone - so please use it if you've collected any dues and deposited them into our account. I'd like it to reflect _all_ transactions as of April, though I realize that going back and entering in this retroactively may be nigh impossible. I'd like to have a discussion about how best to handle membership / access... it's my vision that some piece of software can generate an "active" membership list - of those members who've paid for the current month - and that this membership list will be accessible by the software that handles access to the space. What policies would revolve around that - who would get access, for which months, when, with what system etc. - I leave up to consensus. If any of our fundraising visions are any closer to fruition - t-shirt printing, sudo-club-mate, etc. - please keep me in the loop! - tommy ----------------- Thomas Riley York (杨德民) 510.926.0510 http://www.linkedin.com/in/tommyyork
