[Big Changes] Access Crisis 2013

by Matthew Senate

Hey all, Got word and confirmation from George today that he is dissatisfied with our current access system--meaning we may no longer leave the door on 22nd propped open whatsoever. We need to (a) resolve our membership identification problem and (b) unify and maintain our full access management solution and provide it to all members (c) set up a telephone inside sudo room (d) expand access solutions to the public school, possibly other tenants up to a fair exchange (e) keep the hallway on 22nd to the elevator absolutely clear of all items. Seriously, we are on thin ice and if we want to remain committed to public access and thriving events, we need to get our shit together. I personally cannot commit to resolving any of the above items--but I do offer help and feedback to folks who can commit. // Matt

Beta test Sudo Radio App

by J.C.

Hey all, I've put together a really simple desktop player that streams audio from sudoradio.com https://sudoroom.org/wiki/SudoPod The main feature of this app is that it has an integrated web server and API, so you can run it on your desktop/laptop speakers and be able to control it from any device with a browser on your network. So if you have a Mac or Win machine and want to try it out, let me know, at some point I'll probably do a iOS/Android version as well. Also if anyone wants to setup this up on a desktop in sudo room it can be remotely controlled by anyone on the network. -- ThanX, ;+) https://www.noisebridge.net/wiki/%C3%9F%C3%AA%C3%A3%C2%B5

Sudoers do Yoga: A special Yoga deal I cut with Earth Tribe Yoga

by Max Klein

Greetings and Namaste, I'm a horribly stiff man that war born without the ability to bend past a 20 degree angle. But lately I've been going a few days a week to http://www.earthtribeyoga.com/ on Franklin and 20th (2 blocks from sudo). Now its 25 degrees. Earth Gribe is a cool space, they are essentially sudoers of the yoga world - their classes and space are completely free, and run on member donations. So if we wanted to we could just go to their classes together. Last Sunday, I was the only person at the 5pm class, and got a private lesson. I remembered how intimidating it is to go to Yoga when you don't feel stretchy. So I asked the peeps if they would do *a private lesson for sudoers*. They said yes if we got *5 people at $5/person*. We could do it at their location or at sudo. and the time can be negotiated. Tor now I'm going to propose Sunday at 6, but I'm so flexible. So does anyone want to go with me to regular classes, or start a private group? notcofusingly, Max

CJDNS - Hyperboria - Project Meshnet

by Alcides Gutierrez

Hi everyone! I've been in the space a few times and told a couple of folks about my mesh network ambitions. So now we're fundraising for CJDNS support for Openwrt and Windows. CJDNS is a mesh protocol flavor that emphasizes privacy through built-in encryption and encourages trust and socializing through a trusted peer model. Hyperboria is a pretty large network of CJDNS networks ('mesh islands') scattered across the globe and connected via Internet tunnel. Several services are run such as HypeIRC, and some only accessible via Hyperboria. Project Meshnet is an effort to research, develop, and deploy functional mesh networks based on CJDNS and also expand Hyperboria to become the next generation of the Internet. Ambitious, yes. But very hard to do with the current state of support: Linux and MacOS. If we can support Openwrt and Windows the doors can open wider for development and testing. If you or anyone you know is interested in supporting this development, visit fund.meshwith.me . $125 gets you a wireless router preconfigured with peers so all you have to do is plug it in and connect to Hyperboria. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. Im usually on #Noisebridge and #Sudoroom on Freenode (VaporOne). But feel free to explore projectmeshnet.org or even install a node on your Linux and explore Hyperboria! Alcides Gutierrez http://e64.us
