Anyone know of available housing/rooom

by Liberty Madison

THE SITUATION: The amazing Piedmont home I am in is being sold in a messy divorce. The owner is wonderful, however her divorce is now calling for her to sell her million dollar home so her husband can be paid his half of the equity. When I first moved in it seemed the divorce was dragging but I never thought he would force her and his 9 year old daughter out of this wonderful Piedmont neighborhood! I have never met him (they were divorcing before I arrived) but I will say I am not fond of this. So because of this and this reason ONLY I am now thrust on SF Bay Area housing market. I just found this out YESTERDAY and I have to MOVE BY APRIL 1 (WTW!) A week! ANYWAY Wanted to tap the Sudo Network to see if anyone knew of a room/space/etc or knew someone who knew someone who know who I need to know! Reply and I can send you info about me A little insight I AM the ideal Human Flatmate! I love making smoothies, I heart cupcakes, love cooking vegan/vegetarian meals, love animals, non smoker, non drinker, responsible, and I have tons of cool FREE perks to events! (The events are only exciting if you are into tech/nerd/game stuff otherwise just control x that last part) If you can reach out to your networks! I would appreciate any direction or hacking on this! Thanks Sudoers libertymadison(a)gmail.com 415.937.3785

punk show @ sudo tomoro?

by David Keenan

Passing on a msg from Sudo's FB.. if anyone wants to take this up/on: ---- Hey y'all: So this is a totally last min no expectations message. This is Sean O'Brien. I have spoken with some folks from Sudo Room in the past when I was part of The Holdout. Im also in a band called No Business. We had a show with 2 touring bands planned for tomorrow (tues) night. 2 venues fell through last min. We were going to say fuck it and play a generator show but now its going to rain! ha! Anyways, just curious if a) y'all have nothing going tomorrow night and b) if you would be into hosting an old school punk show. If so, let me know and if not really no worries. Thanks! Re: [sudo-discuss] Evictions in California

by Vicky Knox

Thanks Jeremy for the Oakland Wiki shoutout! Yar, the people who came to Sudo last night at the Anti-Eviction Mapping Project data vis team. <https://antievictionmap.squarespace.com/> I'm in direct contact with them and will forward the OW article along. They are potentially interested in using LocalWiki (Oakland Wiki is a part of the LW network) as a tool for collective storytelling and resource-sharing. We'll be presenting to them next week. I can keep the list posted. ;]

Banning Xavier

by Yardena Cohen

At this point there have been several informal calls for Xavier to be banned. After last night's events I reluctantly agree that he should not be welcome at Sudo until he's accountable for his behavior: * he made threats of violence towards somebody at Sudo * he did something similar at Rock Paper Scissors * he zealously defended other acts of violence committed by a friend of his I'm willing to act as a mediator, but I'm not confident that the problem can be resolved. So I formally propose that he be banned from our space for an indefinite period. Are there any objections?

I have a little thing, and I need a little feedback. Got 15 minutes? I would so love to hear from you. Please reply if you are not at the club. -Pete

April is Design Month at your friendly neighboring hackerspace

by David Rorex

Just passing this on, some people might be interested: Starting April 5, Ace Monster Toys Hackerspace in Oakland is pleased to host a month of design courses and workshops with Régis Lemberthe of A&Ré Design. Originally trained as an industrial designer, Régis graduated with his Master's Degree in Humanitarian Design And Sustainable Living before moving to Berlin and getting involved in the local maker community. He now presents several different workshops there, in parallel with his activities as part of A&Ré Design Studio. From his description of the Design Tour (http://2014.design-tour.org): "One of the most appropriate and exciting answers to mass production and consumption, the maker movement has in the last years gained considerable recognition. Fab labs and hacker spaces are being created in every major city, offering those familiar with low-scale productions techniques access to adequate machinery, as well as training for everyone else. Skill sharing in fab labs is based on the know-how and experience of artists, designers, makers, programmers and hackers committed to making production accessible to all. Yet, while some techniques are widely spread, others sadly remain more confidential. After a few years spent facilitating events at Betahaus Berlin, French designer Régis Lemberthe goes on tour - a series of craft workshops and social+collaborative design courses hosted in maker spaces of various different cities - lasting for a month, wherever interest and facilities are. It has started in 2013 in Betahaus Berlin and will continue in early 2014 in the US, Canada and London before proceeding towards south-east Asia.
