free laptop base

by Pete Forsyth

Hi Sudoers, Is there any place to post free stuff for sudo people? I have a X200 Thinkpad laptop base I'd be happy to pass along to anybody with a compatible laptop -- I think the X61 Thinkpad series is what it's for. DVD/CDRW drive included. But in general, if I have techy stuff to give away -- is there a place I can post it where people will see? I looked on the wiki, but couldn't find anything like that...shall I start a page? Would people use it? Pete [[User:Peteforsyth]]

(Fri - Sun) Just a reminder the landlord is hosting another rave in the common area tomorrow night (June 20). We should probably clean up the common area beforehand. I will try and be there tomorrow morning to help with that.

We had something wonderful going with Sudo Kids. iirc, people from Hayward were actually driving up here for it. I hope very much that we can reboot this at our new space. Vicky has been talking to the OUSD after school program. Oakland International school is a few blocks from the omni. I was going to do another library teenzone event this month but burned out with Omni stuff. TBA. With respect to the diversity of human kinship structure, I would much prefer to frame this as accessibility for all ages, rather than "families vs singles".

Techonomy Bio conference today - special rate for biohackers/hackers

by Ryan Bethencourt

Dear All, As many of you know I'll be speaking at the Techonomy Bio conference on participatory biology and I just spoke with David the CEO of Techonomy and we discussed ensuring that the entire biohacker/hacker community is able to attend regardless of financial means. http://techonomy.com/conf/bio/ David was very generous in extending an invitation to everyone in the community to ensure affordability wasn't an issue, if you'd like to attend please email Tim (cc'd in this email) and David directly and they'll ensure that the cost of attendance isn't an issue for anyone who would like to join from the community. Looking forward to seeing many of you today and onwards with the future, hacking and collaboration :) All the best, Ryan -- Ryan Bethencourt Tel: (415) 825 2705 Conf Call: (650) 741 5013 ryan.bethencourt(a)gmail.com *@ryanbethencourt*

by Marc Juul

I got a report that the sudo door stepper motor is making noises but not turning anything. Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. I'm out of town for a bit. Maybe someone else can take a look at it? -- marc/juul
