I have a door shift from 2-6 but can't make it until 4 or so. If anyone's around right now, could you take extra care of the door? -- Jenny http://jennyryan.net http://sudomesh.org http://thevirtualcampfire.org http://technomadic.tumblr.com `~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~` "Technology is the campfire around which we tell our stories." -Laurie Anderson "Storytelling reveals meaning without committing the error of defining it." -Hannah Arendt "To define is to kill. 200 sq ft Solid Maple Reclaimed Gym Flooring...for Sudoroom?

by Robert Benson

found this on craigslist for FREE!!! Up for grabs 200 sq. ft. of solid maple reclaimed gym flooring! This flooring was sourced from a high school gym in Tacoma, WA and is around 75 years old. All nails and staples have been completely removed; some residual glue is still present. The boards are 2 1/2" wide by 3/4" thick. The lengths vary between 1 to 5 feet. The floor will need to be sanded after installation. Local pickup, by the buyer, only. http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/zip/4916381061.html reply to: - hb4tx-4916381061(a)sale.craigslist.org /////

Doc

by niki

Doc and a friend of his came by today. I told him he couldn't come back until he'd spoken with someone, as planned, about inflammatory comments he was making in the space. I asked if he'd met with Matt as planned and he said he'd been sick and unable to meet. Just as a point of information, the day he was supposed to meet Matt I saw him at 51st and MLK. He said he'd be back tonight for Sudo's meeting. N

sudoroom.org downtime tonight

by yar

It's at maybe the worst possible time (6pm tonight) but there's nothing we can do about it. We'll try to make it as quick & smooth as possible. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: <support(a)linode.com> Date: Sun, Mar 1, 2015 at 11:35 AM Subject: Linode Support Ticket 4254236 - Critical Xen Maintenance / Reboot Schedule Hello, Linode recently received several Xen Security Advisories (XSAs) that require us to perform updates to our host servers. In order to apply the updates, hosts and the Linodes running on them must be rebooted. The XSAs will be publicly released by the Xen project team on March 10th, therefore we must complete the updates before that date. These updates are required to protect the security and safe operations of not only our infrastructure, but yours as well. We understand that a disruption with such limited notice is inconvenient, and we hope you understand that these measures are warranted due to the severity of the XSAs. Your Linodes have been assigned a maintenance window in which a reboot will occur. These times are listed within the Linode Manager[1] in the timezone set in your user's My Profile[2]. Your schedule in UTC timezone is as follows: * 2015-03-06 2:00:00 AM UTC - sudoserver During the maintenance window Linode instances will be cleanly shut down while we perform the updates. Your Linode will be inaccessible during this time. A two-hour window is allocated, however the actual downtime can be much less. After the maintenance, each Linode will then be booted. See our Reboot Survival Guide[3] for tips and hints on configuring and testing that your Linode services boot properly after the maintenance. Unfortunately, due the logistical demands of this effort, your assigned windows are not changeable and the host reboots are mandatory. For general information, please see our status post: <http://status.linode.com/incidents/2dyvn29ds5mz> Please let us know if there is anything we can do to assist. Proposal: Request for sudo room financial alleviation

by Jenny Ryan

Greetings, Sudo Room is having some snafus with our bank, so we're currently unable to pay our shared utilities bill. We have been paying for the Omni's internet, totalling $135.93 to Sonic.net each month. For July-February, this totals $1087.44. Our current utilities bill is $255.35. Deducting our current bill from the total, this amounts to a standing debt of $832.09. While we would like to support the Omni by covering this, we are currently in a very tenuous financial position and may need to dip into this reserve. Is this amenable to the finance committee? We are planning a fundraising event, and several sudoers continue to work hard on booking and coordinating the rental of our common spaces (Omni made roughly $1000 from events this weekend). Gratitude to whoever paid a significant portion of this bill ($135) last week. Donations are hugely appreciated and really needed right now! If any sudoers would like to give one-time direct donations, follow the link on our invoices that are sent out monthly. They can be paid by any card. Current invoice in question: https://waveapps.com/p3tvww-j2ssqn <3 Jenny http://jennyryan.net http://sudomesh.org http://thevirtualcampfire.org http://technomadic.tumblr.com `~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~`~` "Technology is the campfire around which we tell our stories." -Laurie Anderson "Storytelling reveals meaning without committing the error of defining it." -Hannah Arendt "To define is to kill. Re: [sudo-discuss] [omni-discuss] New Internet

It's important that it configured to be a static IP address. Do you know if it was? It looks like we haven't touched our router, it's still connected to the old uplink, so that will have to be migrated. Let's do that at a less high traffic time than Tuesday night and also wait to cancel Sonic service until we finish doing that?
