music gear lists / IRC / slack / whatever

by Candace Lazarou

Hey, I know a bunch of you folks are also musicians/music engineers - I've been recording and playing music for a while but am finally foraying into electronic music (which is weird for a musician/programmer, I know). Does anyone know of a good gear forum? Trying to avoid posting on GearSlutz so I don't have to look at the URL. Ex: I'm trying to figure out if I've got a buggy Electribe, or if my inability to deactivate the master effects bus is a user error.

spell of monitors be gone

by Morgan Allen

Unless there are objections, Sam is going to pick up monitors for the Challenger Learning Center at Chabot Space and Science Center. There are approximately 12 small ones left, all VGA (I think). I think they'll be able to utilize all of them. Questions? Concerns? Field trip to Chabot? -- -----BEGIN PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK----- Version: OpenPGP.js v.1.20121007 Comment: http://openpgpjs.org xsBNBFG3btUBB/9+/WJNOSIuc/praKPaPOweqXV5s7PGRD+HAnNWF/19YAY3 AFtfeoelhhY4sMJoobTaJzcZojznZ1kl/7UuuYCnbJO3Z9kaSMVrVxEZMSLe YmW8Hc4ZsTnl9f05DQFy8ABpAvMLmXJQXh63BbfzjFqNbSWQfLhrubSM2Elq xmN6EsmRyAuEeYlSnal+Di2MlViohpCbbagE2D6AZTUECIamTib6+DuLG4XO b4GGKHR9TXu2qS1VH6hqcvdEz2MDE5OqZzAnBgcF2dvcOdTk9gAOoR1T+qKj IJtg2X0ETbxcPqEXQoXE8VrxN0MLT5JQKTg26+csU4P2w0rEWsUsJombABEB AAHNJU1vcmdhbiBBbGxlbiA8bW9yZ2FucmFsbGVuQGdtYWlsLmNvbT7CwFwE EAECABAFAlG3btwJEG9pFLKaVEfeAAD7hwf+K8LN/kfgi8GTRLiTcuM+hSbm uAeiBY+VaJIQFLzoFlt8A0hBlLNPFNNmUDxdPrMErdHgZ7HtJW/6RANuBTti 5hr3EBguH1GQyK7BbUqJGvaEX4UNRej3uyX3ufXDsIB/3NsKaTyyu+SO0+Hv Cn2DwmlfSXcPhoarx6Turizn/WwgtTN3tqrMWxxiCKWydLH5xYuz+23BLMdc oF/zkbF+7ddFhmyfiFh4Ej9//tsfwPj2cACU3uLTrcwCo7IxUtkrqMF/fhlm LEqjhzDDjq9v7GNWb/5xB2xgTaucJ7/ljuS8nPlZqwCI8NlTgSqC8nyVLyjS yVtOzkItcS0UqyW1Mg== =V/Ia -----END PGP PUBLIC KEY BLOCK-----

Fridge income allocation

by Marc Juul

We have about $280 in income from the fridge since it began. That's not a lot, but at least it's not loosing money. How do people feel about having this income go to Omni for now? When Omni is doing better financially we could consider changing it to a sudo/ccl split. -- marc/juul

pcb etching materials

by robb

captain_morgan & i are trying to make some kits to raise revenue for sudoroom but the etching materials we have don't seem compatible on the chemical side (maybe they're expired?). we have boards but the photoresist isn't setting under the uv light so we haven't gotten to the etching phase. does anyone have any good photoresitive material we could use? thx

120V isolation transformer?

by Jake

does sudoroom have an isolation transformer? it's something that plugs into a regular outlet and outputs the same voltage, but it's isolating. we have a couple of universal AC converter boxes which provide 240VAC when you plug them into 120VAC but they are "autotransformers" and they don't isolate. I want us to have an isolating transformer so that when people experiment with AC-powered devices, they are much less likely to suffer a lethal shock and die. note: some voltage-regulator transformers are isolating, but since they distort the waveform in order to achieve the voltage stabilizing, they are not ideal for our purposes. thank you, -jake

Max B asked to leave

by robb

i saw Max B looking through the sudomesh gear and i told him that i thought he had quit the sudomesh project & asked what he was doing. He told me to "fuck off" and i asked him to leave for violating our safe space policy. He walked back in the front door after i walked him out the side door & when he saw me he claimed he wanted to grab a spool of ethernet cable. i told him to contact sudomesh to get whatever materials he claims are his. i noticed he took a pair of rj45 crimpers (blue handle) which he claimed were his. ~r

Re: [sudo-discuss] [omni-discuss] juki button sewing machine taken to urban ore?

by Helen Finkelstein

The white FNB truck is not used during the middle of the day on Monday. Give me a call then if you want to use it. 510 - 332 - 6535. Does anyone in FNB have any concerns about this?
