Subject: Let's tile up the wheelchair bathroom! weekend work party!
March 3rd & 4th
To: building(a)lists.omnicommons.org
We've passed rough inspections, and it's time to close up the walls. I
will be there all day Saturday and Sunday March 3rd & 4th, and hope
others can make it. We may have to work around an event in the
entrance hall on Saturday, but I think we can manage.
I'll try to have things prepared and ready before then.
as the current cpu connected to taz is running parrotOS & not being used
for it's relevant purpose, i plan on installing ubuntu/debian and
pronterface to talk to taz. plz let me know if you have any cnc projects or
other files that you wish to preserve or objections to the plan
thx

Hey sudo room people,
I am building a website to teach people how to code. I am looking for
someone to hire who would edit the site for grammar and to make the
instructions more clear.

Classes should be coming next month. This website is on github and written
in markdown.
Thank you
Noah
Dear Sudoers,
Rick Simon ("Ricardo"), beloved by many, passed away on November 29, 2017. He was 48, born 1/23/1969 - originally from Miami, Florida. Rick lived in San Francisco and Oakland over the past decade. He was much involved in the community, including co-founding the Bay Area Community Exchange (BACE) Timebank, a bartering exchange system to help the local economy during the recession. He also participated in the Occupy Movement in SF and Oakland.
We, the members of the BACE Timebank, would like to commemorate his life, bring people together to talk about many of all the things Rick was involved in and cared about, and to do a volunteer drive in order to rescue some of his efforts.
Rick impacted a lot people’s lives, and we’ve been moved by hearing of his passing. This event will be an opportunity to benefit from his energy, by bringing to life some of the efforts that he is no longer able to put energy into.
Date/Time:
Please join us this Saturday, February 10th, 3:00 pm
Location:
Omni Commons, Entrance Hall
4799 Shattuck Ave, Oakland, CA
https://omnicommons.org
(1/2 mile walk from MacArthur BART)
We could use help organizing this event. Please contact us if you'd like to volunteer. Please send us your photos of Rick, links to videos, your stories and comments that we may read at the memorial.

If someone could share these upcoming actions with sudoers tonight, that
would be awesome. I'm still in Upstate NY til tomorrow.

it took me a minute to find this link (thanks Patrik) reminding us how to use
the sudoroom laser cutter, but here it is.
Is there someone who is willing to meet with Zerena (cc'd in this email) who
wants to use the laser cutter?
actually i've been noticing a lot of interest in the laser cutter so it would
be good to schedule a training. I'd go.

There is actually a laser cutter in Sudo Room that we can use (and their 3D
printer may or may not be fixed again as well). The old page at RIT that
describes the laser cutter is no longer up, but here's the last version on
archive.org:
